At LumiTube, we take your family's privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Our Promise:
We will never sell, share, or use your data for anything outside of providing the LumiTube app experience. Your data stays private and is used only to make the app work for your family.
Information We Collect
Parent Information:
- Phone number for authentication
- Consent preferences (SMS reports, analytics)
Child Profile Information (created by parents):
- Child's first name and avatar
- Age bracket
- Content preferences (topics, keywords, channels)
- Screen time settings and schedule
Viewing Activity:
- Videos watched and session duration (used for recommendations and parent reports)
- AI-generated interest profile, built automatically from viewing behavior
- App usage patterns (only if you consent to analytics)
How We Use Your Information
We use your information ONLY to:
- Provide the app service (authentication, video filtering, screen time tracking)
- Generate personalized content recommendations using AI
- Produce weekly summaries of your child's viewing activity
- Send weekly reports (if you opt in)
- Improve the app (if you opt in to analytics)
- Process subscription payments
We will NEVER:
- ❌ Sell your data to third parties
- ❌ Share your data with advertisers
- ❌ Use your data for marketing
- ❌ Share your child's name or personal details with any third party
- ❌ Collect data directly from children
Third-Party Services
LumiTube uses a small number of trusted services to operate the app. Each receives only the minimum data required for its function:
Supabase (Cloud Database)
Stores all app data in encrypted form. Supabase cannot read your data — it is encrypted before it leaves your device.
RevenueCat (Subscription Management)
Receives your account ID and subscription status to manage your plan. Payment details are handled by Apple or Google and are never seen by LumiTube or RevenueCat.
PostHog (Usage Analytics)
Receives in-app usage events (e.g. "feed loaded", "video tapped") to help us improve the app. Only active if you consent to analytics. No names or phone numbers are shared.
Children's Privacy (COPPA)
LumiTube complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):
- All data is created by and controlled by parents — children do not create accounts
- Parents have full control over all settings and data
- No child names or personal details are shared with third parties
- No targeted advertising or tracking
Your Rights (GDPR)
- ✓ Right to Access: View your data in the Parent Dashboard
- ✓ Right to Rectification: Edit child profiles and preferences anytime
- ✓ Right to Erasure: Delete your entire account via Settings → Delete My Account
- ✓ Right to Data Portability: Request a copy of your data at safesocialhub@gmail.com
Data Retention
Here is how long we keep different types of data:
- Viewing history & session data: Until you delete your account
- Weekly activity reports: 7 days (auto-deleted)
- Account and profile data: Until you delete your account
